Hello fabulous peeps. We are happy to announce that Baby Yamo will be comfortably situated in an adorable arctic themed nursery. We're thinking penguins, polar bears and cute seals. If you think of any other awesome arctic ideas, please pass them our way. Grandma Yamo already bought a giant penguin to get the room started!
The color scheme is black, white and bright blue, with red accents. This theme is a go regardless of Baby Yamo's sex. So..for those of you who can't wait to start buying/sewing stuff, you can get started now with toys, books and crafts!!
Also-our sonogram is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25. Right now, we're (well-really me if I'm being honest here) leaning toward NOT finding out the sex of the baby. Of course, anything could happen in the next few weeks, so we'll keep everyone posted either way.
Have a fantabulous week!
Tootles,
Christine

February 12, 2008 - Spoiled, Spoiled Princess
No, I am not referring to Amelia Peabody (although she is treated like canine royalty around our house), I am referring to me!! My amazing hubby spoiled me rotten for my 29th (yes...I decided I'm spending 1 more year in the 20s) birthday. He planned a surprise b-day dinner on Sunday night (special thanks to Ben, Carla and Karen for coming out) and grilled the most amazing steaks ever last night! Then, he surprised me with a Caribbean cruise vacation!! And if that isn't enough, he topped it all off by putting together a wedding album (we couldn't afford the professional one at the time). It hasn't been printed yet but it is absolutely gorgeous!! He was even willing to go out to karaoke (I was too tired to go) but just the though is so sweet-he knows I love to sing my heart out (and I know he hates singing with a passion).
Alas, it was a great day. Thank you so much babe-you are THE BEST!! I can't wait for our vacation, I know we will have a blast!! (and I am totally getting a spray tan before we go so I'm tan and fabulous the very first day)
*smooch*

February 8, 2008 - Baby Y's First Business Trip
The bambino is a traveler already!! We just got back from our first business trip together in Charlotte. I forgot to bring my pre-natals and felt pretty good while I was there. The bambino really enjoyed the cool weather, hills and winding roads. He (yes..I said he, I don't know the sex yet and don't really have a feeling either way, but I'm really hoping for a boy so please send 'male karma' thoughts my way). Anyhoo, he really enjoyed Carolina BBQ (so different from Texas, but still yummy) and we had some fabulous pizza! The only thing we didn't care for was that smoking is still legal in restaurants there-one whiff of smoke and I will gag on the spot. It was hard controlling it around the people I was traveling with who don't know I'm with child.
I still haven't told anyone I'm preggers yet at work. I'm was initially waiting until our raises went though (they just did) but now I decided to wait until I'm showing. I'm hoping I make it to March. There is no particular reason (J.D. thinks I should just tell everyone now) but I don't feel like spilling the beans just yet. It is kind of a fun secret!!
Well-time to take my existing babies (the furry ones) out on their evening walk.
Hasta luego!

February 4, 2008 - 2nd Trimester!!
The second trimester is here-we made it! I called my family today and spread the good news, everyone was excited.
Here are my stats so far:
Weight Gained: 4 lbs
Inches Grown: +1" bust, +1" waist
Food Cravings: none
Food Aversions: many (see previous post, I also forgot to add Chinese food which is possibly the worst smelling food EVER)
Exercise Routine: walking approx. 5-8 miles per week (hasn't been as much as usual due to the nausea).
Look Pregnant? no (hip bones still visible) & still wearing regular clothes
FYI-I'm pretty upset the Giant's won. I'm not the hugest football fan, but I CANNOT STAND the Mannings-they drive me insane. I am going to have to avoid ESPN and if I hear anyone raving about Eli Manning, I may seriously vomit. (side note-cannot stand Peyton Manning either-if I see another commercial with their mugs I'm avoiding tv forever!)
