June 23 - Diving Board!!

I have extremely exciting news to announce. We went to a birthday party today and Julia (also known as 'Sparkle' for the duration of the day) jumped off the diving board!!! She wasn't scared at all and went off about twenty times or more. She loved it! Go Julia go!  Mommy is so proud.

June 21 - Sparkle

Happy summer everyone! Julia started swimming lessons last week and she is doing great. She is quickly becoming a little fish and it is amazing how much she's progressed. A month ago, she would barely put her face in the water. Now, she goes completely underwater, waves and gives high fives. She can swim several feet doing freestyle (still working on the breathing), she does a pretty decent backstroke (with assistance floating) and she can do a sit dive off the edge of the pool. Go Julia go! We are so proud of our little water baby. 

Last week was 'bring your child to work day' at NASA so the bean and I took a trip to the lab. She was very excited to shake the robots hand again and we toured a few labs to see some other cool NASA stuff. There were a lot of kids there and everyone had a fabulous time meeting the robot and all the engineers. We had lunch afterward at the onsite cafeteria and she spent the rest of the day hanging out with me at home. It was a super fun day for all of us!

We also went to a birthday party for one of Julia's school friends this past weekend at the Jumpin Jungle and of course, the kids had a great time. I know a lot of parents are sick and tired of going to that place for parties but you know what? Every kid there has a great time, so I'm cool with eating Ci Ci's pizza and hoisting kids up rubber ladders. Even better-this time Luke was able to sit at the table with the other kids and I didn't have to hold him the whole time. Yay!
