January 20 - Pets Paradise

Welcome to the Yamo house. We are a pets paradise. Animal haters need not visit.

I present to you...Lucky Duck (her full name per Luke) the "Snuggly Kitten"

Bella and Apollo "Wherever Mom is, We are"

Never fear future visitors-the floors are swept daily, swiffered multiple times per week and blankets cleaned often.

January 15 - Cross Country

After a month long hiatus and 1 practice last week, Julia competed in her first cross country meet yesterday. She did fantastic and placed 4th out of approx. 50 girls. Great job Julia!! Not too shabby for being out of shape. She was very proud of herself.

There was no practice today after school, but our little athlete didn't take the day off! She just headed out for a run. I'm so proud of her work ethic. Go Jules!

January 11 - Happy New Year

I'm a tad behind in blog posts so here is a quick update:

New Years
JD was a typical NYE scrooge (as we call him) and went to bed early. Julia, Luke and I stayed up and watched fireworks behind the house after the clock struck midnight. It was a quiet but fun night with the 3 of us.

School
After two weeks off, all the kids headed back to school last week. Julia and Luke to their respective bedrooms (LOL) and Jillian to preschool. Luke has a new ELA teacher as his old teacher took a new position at a different school. He likes her so far. Julia's schedule changed a bit and she has 2 new teachers.

Sports
In good news, Julia had a doctors appointment last Monday and was cleared for activity. Yay! Her cross country coaches at school wouldn't allow her to practice (they wanted her to take another week off) and she was a little nervous as there was a meet today, but we had a lot of rain yesterday and the meet was cancelled this morning.

Luke is taking private tennis lessons and loves it so far. The coach said he has a great backhand. Julia started a group lessons this past weekend with a few other girls who will be trying out for the 7th grade teams. We'll see how it goes!
