Luke & Ethan
Hoco 2025! It has been a crazy week so let's dig in. Tuesday was a polo game and our teams fought hard but didn't come up with wins. Our girls actually made it to OT and lost by one so that was exciting. Wednesday was the homecoming parade. I was pretty stressed out about this parade because when I submitted the application, we weren't sure who would be driving and the form said changes could be made with at least 24H notice. I submitted changes 72H in advance and was told the application was wrong and no changes were allowed. There was also a huge storm looming all day but in the end, everything worked out! It was HOT and HUMID but the weather held and the kids had fun.
For the non-Texans reading this (probably all of you LOL), mums are a tradition for homecoming. I finished Julia and Karley (Luke's date) over a week ago. Mums are pretty big craft projects and some people work on them for months. I worked on Julia's for several days as well as Karley's.

On Wednesday evening, we realized Mia didn't have a mum so I offered to make her one. She requested 'pink' so I sent out a "911 Mum Emergency" text to a few friends for ribbon and I spent all day Thursday knocking out her mum. I logged over 10k steps just moving around my kitchen making the mum! But I got it done! On Thursday evening, Luke and Karley did their 'mum exchange' and then he and JD went to the intro meeting for Robonauts, the high school FIRST robotics team that he was just accepted to. Congratulations Luke!!
Yesterday (Friday) was actual homecoming. The senior girls wear overalls to school (most of them decorate them..Julia kind of did) and everyone wears their mums. The school also hosted a food fair and I worked at school serving mac and cheese for the senior class. Food fairs are a way for grade levels to start earning money for prom (we started freshman year) and it was fun to see all the mums and overalls! Last night was another water polo game followed by the football game, which Julia and Luke went to. Then they were up at 6am this morning for a swim meet and the dance is tonight.
What a week!
