Summer swim tryouts are quickly approaching and our littlest Yamo needs to get into swim shape. Although she could swim a lap by the end of last summer, she's pretty much forgotten everything since August. The local high school had a swim clinic a few weeks ago and Jillian attended.
The first day, all the kids sat on the bleachers together while they introduced the coaches (high school swimmers). The head coach then called all the kids names and assigned them lanes. They didn't call Jillian's name and asked her name was. She said "My name is Eevee" and the coach looked at her clipboard and say "I don't see anyone registered with that name." I ran over and said "Her name is Jillian!" Our little stinker is obsessed with Pokemon and Eevee is her favorite. At the end of the week, her favorite coach, Coach Mariam, asked me if her name was Jillian or Eevee because she insisted on being called Eevee all week.
If you are wondering about her swimming, well, she honestly looked like she was going to drown on the first day but she swam a lap by the end of the week. Orca tryouts start the week of May 9th and she has until May 13th to get across the pool so fingers (and toes!) crossed that she can do it!
