September 1 - Labor of Love

Hello everyone! Before I gush over my fabulous, gorgeous, amazing daughter, I need to give a shout out to some friends who really helped us over the last couple weeks. Thanks to Ben and Zach for helping with the pooches on the day Julia was born, and special thanks to Grandma Yamo for taking care of them the entire time we were in the hospital. We really appreciate that you snuggled with Amelia, showered them with tasty treats and walked both of them (even though we were in the middle of a tropical storm)!! You are fabulous! I also need to thank all my friends from book club that have brought over amazing home cooked meals for J.D. and I. We have seriously been spoiled, this is the most food we have ever had in the house at one time!!

Okay...time to brag about Julia. She is 2 weeks old today and I fall more in love with her every second. I know she can't control her arms and facial expressions yet, but she smiles in her sleep and arranges her arms in the cutest positions.
She has the most adorable dimples and chubby little cheeks. She also has amazingly long fingers and toes. Sometimes I feel like I can just stare at her forever.

So far, she is a great baby. Sure, she is fussy at times, but she spends most of her days eating and sleeping. In general, she is on a 3H eating and sleeping schedule although she has slept for one 4H stretch the last 2 nights (which is fantastic for J.D. and I). Speaking of J.D.-he is an amazing daddy. He loves to snuggle with Julia and does a great job soothing her at night if she is fussy.
As far as the dogs go, many people have inquired how they are doing with their new sister. Honestly, they don't seem to care too much about her at this point. Guinness completely ignores her and Amelia occasionally tries to lick her, but otherwise leaves her alone. I think they will become her best friend when she starts eating solid food (around 6-months).

Well-I am in the middle of my fantasy football draft and need to get back to the action.

Tootles!
Christine

ps-I'm not sure if anyone watched 'Shear Genius' this season, but Charlie was totally robbed!
