October 11 - Pumpkin Patch
Happy October! Sorry for the lack of posts this month. I have been insanely busy on the work front the last few weeks. Fall is normally the busiest time of year for my group and we had the added responsibility of integrating a newly purchased spine company so things have been hectic. Needless to say, after many long nights and weekends I am pretty much caught up on everything and finally handed off some projects to people late last week. It is a huge stress relief!
So...no baby yet. I was hoping for a 10/10/10 birth, but no suck luck. I think it is still pretty cool that Julia was born 8/2008 and he'll be born 10/2010 (no-we won't be having a third in 12/2012!). The doctor initially thought he might come early because I started having contractions a few weeks ago and was dilating, but there was no change from my 38 wk to 39 wk appointment, so who knows-he'll get here when he gets here.
As she said on Friday "He could come tonight or in 2 weeks, you can't predict these things." Let's hope he isn't a week late....
We are still experiencing the most gorgeous weather-highs in the mid 70s and lows at night in the 40s/50s. Did I mention ZERO humidity? It is wonderful! Our new Sunday routine is going to the park (there is a great park near us that has a fenced dog park as well as a kids area) and then we have a picnic afterward.
I'm sure this will change once the boy arrives but it works for now. Julia has had a great time playing with Hannah, Emma, Sarah and Iris recently and today we went to the pumpkin patch where we picked out pumpkins! It was so much fun-she loved the 'baby pumpkins.' She picked one out for herself and her brother. She is also getting excited for Halloween
and loves looking at the decorations in the neighborhood. We have a neighbor, Bridget, who always has the most amazing decorations for every holiday imaginable. Julia tries to run into her yard...she wants to touch them all (and pull them down sometimes..we have to watch her like a hawk!). She also seems to be going through a growth spurt, she eats more food than J.D. and I combined-it is amazing watching someone so small pack so much into her little tummy! (4 servings of beans and rice the other night!! On Saturday, she had a pb&j sandwich, apple sauce, multiple cups of milk, a piece of bread, carrots and still wanted more for lunch!)
Well-I hope you are all having a fabulous fall and hopefully next time I post on here, I'll be announcing the birth of the newest Yamo! It is funny, I clearly remember the day we found out we were pregnant (Super Bowl Sunday in February). October seemed so far away...yet here we are already! Oh-and yes, the baby's room is finally done (well, 99% complete. We have some wall decals to put up, but we need to wait a few weeks for the paint to fully cure). I'll post pictures at some point.
One more thing before I sign off for the evening and try to sleep (I've been getting up every 1 to 2 hours for the last few months, I swear I'll get more sleep when the baby arrives than I do now)....Name Game Update!! We have it narrowed down to 4 (it was three than one name crept back in)-ONE of the names listed on the right is part of our top 4 so if you haven't submitted a name yet, there is still time. Good luck!
Happy Monday everyone-enjoy the rest of your week. Hope you enjoy these adorable pictures of our little bean!
