March 3 - Tiger Monkeys

The Tiger Monkeys
Happy Tuesday everyone! This past Saturday was Luke's first ever soccer practice/game and I have to say it was one of the cutest things I've ever watched in my entire life. It was a chilly day here (50ish with gusting winds) and the little ones were so cute bundled up. In case you are wondering what 3 and 4 year old's do for soccer, they "practice" for 30min and then scrimmage for another 30min. They don't have too many ball skills at this age so they literally run around in a pack chasing the ball while the coaches and parents (and Julia, she was an honorary coach) try to help them run the right direction. He had a great time and can't wait for next week. And super fun-the kids named their team the 'Tiger Monkeys.' I love it!

Big Hero 6 movie night
After Luke's game, Julia and I stayed for her first game of the spring season. She is on a higher level team compared to the fall (they are placed on teams based on a time trial that involves a figure-eight ball drill with flags) and it was a great experience for her. Both her team and the opposing team had some great athletes (they were pretty tall, I would guess 8 year olds) and she was able to score 3 goals. Her team (the Wildcats) won and they were pretty excited. Go Wildcats!

In other fun weekend news, the kids had a Big Hero 6 movie night on Friday with our neighbor's Kendall, Siddhant and Rhea. The kids had a blast and JD even made a tent for them to watch.

Cutest soccer player ever

Go Texan day (first day of rodeo)
